The Idea and Research

I took to pinterest to look into more depth and further detail of a poppy is formed.

I created a mind map of what our clients want and what I thought would be effective within this project.

My first idea was to create a poppy and whilst still keeping the same outline of the flower itself, the only thing I would've changed would be the colour. I wanted my design to be simple and not too complicated, so I chose bright colours, one because colour fills the atmosphere with positivity and another reason being that there are children, and they love to use colour.
I sketched some rough designs to see how they'd look.

I used watercolours on paper to see how the colours looked, but I realised we cant used any type of paint due to the surroundings of where we are creating our art.

As for the colour scheme I thought that using complimentary colours that fit in what I've been doing within some of my projects, whilst also keeping the same structure of a normal poppy flower.
For the design shown on the right I decided to create little flowers (simple designed flowers) in the shape of the poppy. This didn't work as effectively as I'd have liked it to.
I think the colour is wrong, blue represents sadness and the event held is to represent happiness which is why they use the colour red. Our clients said they use the colour red because it represents honour and happiness.

I decided to do some continuous line drawing as an experimentation process, I feel with this kind of design it would be too complicated to use with chalks, so I thought that doing this designs earlier on would be a good way to experiment and have fun with it.

As said before I did not want to include any complications within my design and I want my final design to be as simplified as I can get it, purely because I want it to have a clear message but be simply enough for my audience and clients to understand the message I am trying to get across.
