Briefing for new project
We were briefed on a project that was associated with Remembrance Day (Poppy Day.) The event was going to be held at the Skatepark in Hereford, with a vast majority of people coming. We were told to be creative and that we can stylise our poppies to however we'd like to as long as it still fits the theme of 'Remembrance Day.''
We were also told that we may have helpers at hand, children will be invited to the event and may possibly help us with creating our designs.
Our clients also mentioned that they would have a drone to capture our images from a birds eye view, so through these designs I had to think carefully about my composition of my illustrations.

We had a complicated brief given to us, although it sounds simple, we had to make sure nothing was PERMANENT because although the event is huge, it is still a public space used regularly. We came to the conclusion to use chalks to create our designs (our designs will be drawn on the floors.)
Considering this event will be held outdoors we had to think about the weather conditions, and if it was going to be wet (because our designs will wash away in the rain.) We haven't really found a solution to how we can get around this. My initial thought when it was first mentioned was that we could put our designs on the inside of the windows. I will also consider that whilst creating my designs for this project.
After having our briefing I took to pinterest to research further into stylised poppies and how they are structure.

I looked into how poppies are structure, and went with looking into the original version of poppies (Red, with black centre and green stem) Just so when it came to creating my own design the public would be able to easily identify what the illustration is of.
